Tax Advisor
The practice of a tax advisor is subject, in particular, to the following professional regulations: ▪ Tax Advisory Act (StBerG) ▪ Implementing Regulation for the Tax Advisory Act (DVStBerG) ▪ Code of Professional Conduct for Tax Advisors (BOStB) ▪ Tax Advisor Fee Regulation (StBVV) The applicable professional regulations for certified public accountants and certified auditors can be viewed online at www.wpk.de; the regulations for tax advisors can be found at www.bstbk.de.
Avoiding Conflicts of Interest in Multidisciplinary Activities
Auditors and tax advisors are prohibited by professional regulations from representing conflicting interests. Before accepting an engagement, the firm therefore assesses whether a potential conflict of interest exists that would require the engagement to be declined.
Professional Liability Insurance
The company maintains the professional liability insurance required under Sections 54 of the German Public Accountants Act (WPO) and Section 67 of the German Tax Advisors Act (StBerG) with HDI-Gerling Firmen und Privat Versicherung AG, Riethorst 2, 30659 Hanover, Germany. The coverage limit per insured event is 4,000,000.00 EUR. The geographical scope of the insurance coverage extends to Europe, Turkey, the Russian Federation, and the other states of the former Soviet Union, as well as non-European territories of European states that are members of the EU or the EEA.
Fee Information
The fees for tax advisory services arising from the engagement of the firm are determined in accordance with the provisions of the StBVV, unless otherwise agreed upon in individual cases. Fees for auditing services are determined by individual agreement.
General Terms and Conditions
The Company provides its services in accordance with the provisions of the “General Terms and Conditions for Auditors and Auditing Firms” (AAB WP) in their currently valid version. The AAB WP are available at the Company’s registered office. They stipulate that German law exclusively applies to contractual relationships with the Company.
Arbitration Boards
In the event of disputes between the Company and its clients, upon request, out-of-court arbitration is available through the Arbitration Board for Certified Public Accountants (www.wpk.de) or the Arbitration Board for Tax Advisors (www.stbk-suedbaden.de).

These include, in particular: conducting audits of financial statements; providing other audit and assurance services; business transaction advisory services, including the valuation of companies and equity interests; and business turnaround, restructuring, and succession planning advisory services.
