Theresa

Breuer

On November 8, we held our evening forum entitled “Important | Unimportant – a matter of perspective” at the WeberHaus in Rheinau-Linx.

Our guest this year was the German journalist, photographer, filmmaker, war correspondent, and activist Theresa Breuer. In the summer of 2021, she was able to evacuate well over 4,000 Afghans from their home country through the organization Kabul Luftbrücke (Kabul airlift), which she founded specifically for this purpose. Breuer traveled to Rheinau-Linx from Israel – where she currently lives and works – especially for the evening forum.

New concept

We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year. We are taking this as an opportunity to reflect on values – which is how the challenging topic for our evening forum came about. The topic is very timely right now and raised many questions for us in the run-up to the event, which led to the moderated talk. We didn’t skip the traditional Q&A session after the presentation – which was followed up by the opportunity to chat with Theresa Breuer at an informal get-together. We got the impression that the topic and Theresa Breuer’s words will linger in everyone’s minds.
